The San Francisco 49ers have two late picks in each of the first two rounds of the 2026 NFL draft: At Nos. 27 and 58. The team could go a variety of directions with either selection, but Underdog’s Hayden Winks and Josh Norris went through their post-free agency mock draft and gave the 49ers two offensive players.
Winks and Norris picked Texas A&M receiver KC Concepcion at No. 27 and Arkansas running back Mike Washington at No. 58.
[Concepcion] just the better version of Ricky Pearsall to me, which they need. Like they need a slot and kind of flanker. And think that Concepcion would do that. He would also bring return juice. They lost Skyy Moore. He better go round one. I think that he’s got a ton, ton, ton of upside. I thought he was one of the best route runners in the draft class and then you can watch him pull away from all like the first and second round corners. Watch the tape. He runs right by all of them. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes even earlier than this. But, this would be an awesome fit.
Brian Robinson is a free agent. They obviously don’t like [Isaac] Guerendo. I would guess that they want like a complement to Christian McCaffrey and they got to be realistic about like how many touches they can give Christian McCaffrey and how impactful he is. A good complement to McCaffrey would be Mike Washington, who’s just super, super fast. Like this would be so on-brand for [49ers head coach Kyle] Shanahan, but they’re ripe for a running back going a little bit earlier just because of how bad the depth chart is behind Christian McCaffrey, his age, and then the volume of touches and the injury history.
Neither pick is a clear need, but they would both raise the floor of the offense in 2026. The 49ers don’t have much receiver depth right now behind Mike Evans and Pearsall, so adding a speedster like Concepcion would be a fun addition for Brock Purdy to work with, especially given George Kittle’s injury.

Concepcion caught 61 receptions for 919 yards and an SEC-high nine touchdowns this past season in 13 games. He has 185 receptions for 2,218 yards and 25 touchdowns over 38 career college games. Concepcion also returned 30 punts for 501 yards and two touchdowns over the past two seasons, mostly in 2025 for the Aggies.
Washington is an intriguing pick given his age and experience. He’ll be 23 by the time the 2026 season starts and has 51 college games under his belt for three different schools — most recently with Arkansas. This past season, Washington rushed 167 times for 1,070 yards and eight scores. He would easily replace Robinson as McCaffrey’s primary backup if the 49ers aren’t content with the trio of Guerendo, Jordan James and Patrick Taylor.
