I’ve cycled through several saucepans, including one my mom gave me when I first moved to New York City and the ones I’ve tested as a shopping writer over the last three years. I’ve been lucky to try out some great saucepans — but I recently found one that tops them all.
What You Should Know About KitchenAid’s Design Series Evergreen Ceramic Nonstick 2-Quart Saucepan
Like the Evergreen stand mixer, this saucepan has a dark green matte finish and a cream-colored ceramic nonstick surface that is honestly one of the best I’ve ever used (and I’ve tested a lot of nonstick cookware). Not to mention, it has beautiful bronze details on the long handle and the lid.
This saucepan is both stovetop- and oven-safe (as long as you keep it under 500°F), and it can even go in the dishwasher. It’s sold exclusively at Crate & Barrel for $80. While it is more expensive than your average saucepan, I absolutely think it’s worth every penny. It even performs better than higher-priced pans I’ve tried.
My Honest Review of KitchenAid’s Design Series Evergreen Ceramic Nonstick 2-Quart Saucepan
I’ve been using this beautiful little saucepan for about four months, and I’m genuinely so jazzed every time I take it out. For a small pot, it’s decently deep (about as tall as a can of corn), which means no messy splattering sauces or water boiling over here. Plus, even though I use it multiple times a week, that creamy interior hasn’t stained at all — something I was initially concerned about.
Truly nothing sticks to this saucepan’s interior. I often make savory oats with a good helping of shredded mozzarella tossed in at the end, and while the cheese gets gooey and melty, it easily slides out of the pot. Because of its amazing nonstick properties, it hand-washes like a dream. I had no idea it was also dishwasher-safe until very recently, so that makes cleaning even easier (although I might stick to hand-washing to help keep it in tip-top shape for as long as possible).
This saucepan originally wowed me with its stunning aesthetic, but it has made me into a long-term fan because of its high quality. I’ll continue to test other great saucepans, but this is the one that will always have a permanent spot on my stove.
