When I renovated my kitchen last summer, I decided to create a bold accent wall that doubled as a storage spot for all of my cookware. Because I have a small galley kitchen, cabinet space is a precious commodity; hanging my skillets, cutting boards, and pots was the only way to go. Previously, I’d had the basic IKEA KUNGFORS hanging rail — it served me well for years, but I was ready for a more elevated look. Here’s the before shot:
After putting up a romantic Schumacher forest-y floral wallpaper, I searched far and wide for a set of brass racks to match my switch plates, cabinet pulls, and other brass elements throughout my kitchen. The real heavy brass options were all a bit more than I wanted to spend, so I turned my eye towards a more affordable option. These brass pot hangers were so affordable, I ended up installing two!
This stainless steel hanger comes in a variety of colors, including brass, black, copper, and silver, as well as two different lengths: 39.4 inches, which I opted for, and a smaller 23.7-inch version. In terms of quality, it’s super strong and well-coated — no peeling or scratches so far, and it’s been over six months! It’s also rust-resistant, waterproof, and easy to install, either on a wall, a backsplash, or even on a ceiling.
The real draw for me, though, was the stability of the sliding S-hooks. The eight included hooks slide on before the pole gets installed, so they won’t randomly fall off when you grab a pot because they’re locked in. I also love how far the rack comes off the wall (almost 1.5 inches!) so my pots and pans don’t scratch up all that wallpaper handiwork. These racks easily tripled my storage instantly and added to my kitchen’s romantic, warm aesthetic! Check out the full makeover on Apartment Therapy here.
