“Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”–you’ve heard it, Zendaya has most certainly heard it, as her look for The Drama’s premiere so said last night. The actor went into her own archives to pull a bridal white Vivienne Westwood gown that she first wore to the 2015 Oscars.
The dress is a statement of Westwood’s signature draping, with an off-the-shoulder neckline and corset waist that falls into a column skirt with a small train. 11 years earlier, still a burgeoning Disney star, Zendaya wore the gown with her long hair in side-swept dreadlocks, with a chunky diamond bracelet and egg shell-like clutch. Last night, she sported her bob in a very old-school bridal, smooth and deep-set side part, with shimmering drop earrings and pointed white pumps. The newlywed’s own east-west set engagement ring and slim wedding band appeared on her wedding finger.
“I was brainstorming with [stylist and image architect Law Roach] about how I would theme dress for this film, and I kind of remembered the saying, ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,’” Zendaya told Variety on The Drama premiere red carpet. “So I thought I’d bring it back.”
