Michigan State football has reportedly locked in on its next quarterbacks coach.
Multiple reports have been filed that Michigan State is set to hire UMass offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian as its next quarterbacks coach. Matt Fortuna of The Inside Zone and Justin Thind of 247Sports were two of the first to report the notable Michigan State coaching staff news.

Bajakian previously worked with new Spartans head coach Pat Fitzgerald at Northwestern. He was the offensive coordinator at Northwestern from 2020 to 2023, with three of those seasons being under Fitzgerald as the Wildcats’ head coach.
Bajakian was most recently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at UMass this past season. He was at Utah the year prior as an offensive analyst and served as the interim offensive coordinator as well.
Michigan State has now nearly completed its offensive coaching staff, with only the running backs coach yet to be named. The Spartans will be led on that side of the ball by offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan.
