U.S. app uninstalls of ChatGPT’s mobile app jumped 295% day-over-day on Saturday, February 28, as consumers responded to the news of OpenAI’s deal with the Department of Defense (DoD), which has been rebranded under the Trump administration as the Department of War. This data, which comes from market intelligence provider Sensor Tower, represents a sizable increase compared with ChatGPT’s typical day-over-day uninstall rate of 9%, as measured over the past thirty days. Meanwhile, U.S. downloads for OpenAI competitor, Anthropic’s Claude, jumped up by 37% day-over-day on Friday, Feb. 27, and 51% as of Saturday, Feb. 28, after the company announced…
The NFLPA report cards weren’t supposed to be available to the public this year, but they got leaked out anyway, so we’re going to break them down and we’re going to focus on the owners. One of the most interesting parts of the grading system is that it allows each player to anonymously rate their owner, which gives us an idea of how well the person at the top of the organization relates to the players on the field. The NFLPA had 1,759 players rate their team in 17 different categories, including ownership. With that in mind, let’s take a look…
Stripe on Monday released a preview of a new feature that could help AI startups (and other companies) solve the problem of passing through the underlying costs of AI model usage to their customers. Stripe’s feature, however, goes even further than just passing through the costs of the tokens. It allows startups to charge a markup percentage on token usage. So a company can, for instance, charge an automatic 30% above the cost of the tokens that the startup will pay the model maker. As Stripe described it, “Say you’re building an AI app: you want a consistent 30% margin…
President Donald Trump, left, and JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.ReutersJPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said Monday that while President Donald Trump’s lawsuit seeking $5 billion in damages for shuttering his accounts was without merit, he sympathized with the president’s anger over the episode.Trump is accusing JPMorgan and others of closing his accounts for political reasons in what his conservative supporters have called discrimination. “The case has no merit,” Dimon told CNBC’s Leslie Picker in an interview on the sidelines of a JPMorgan conference in Miami.”But I agree with them,” he said. “They have the right to be angry. I’d…
After the BBC and Disney ended their Doctor Who co-production deal last year, fans have been wondering what will happen next. There’s definitely a Christmas special coming later this year. There’s definitely a spin-off series that has aired in the UK but not yet in the U.S. The BBC is definitely going to keep on keeping on. But who will be the next Doctor? Typically that’s a bit of information confirmed in the moment the previous actor departs the show and the character regenerates, but given the Fifteenth Doctor’s transformation into someone being played by series veteran Billie Piper, it’s…

Anthropic is bringing another paid feature to Claude’s free tier. The next time you chat with Claude, you’ll have the option to have it reference your previous conversation to inform its outputs. Anthropic first made its chatbot capable of remembering past interactions last August, before giving it the ability to compartmentalize memories in the fall. Making memory a free feature is well-timed; earlier today Anthropic made it easier for users to import their past conversations with a competing chatbot to Claude. If after enabling memory you decide to turn it off, you can either pause the feature, preserving Claude’s memories for…
This was the heaviest mixer we tested (at a whopping 44 lb.), but while that weight made it difficult to maneuver when we unboxed it, it also made it extra stable. It’s ultra powerful, so we found we needed to exercise caution when selecting speeds.Overall, we thought this mixer was innovative and performed incredibly well—it’s just a lot of mixer for the average home cook. But if you’re a frequent bread or large batch baker and like the idea of a voice-controlled, Wi-Fi-enabled mixer with all the techy features a person could dream of, you might think it’s worth the…
For the first time in the history of the SAG Awards, Sunday night’s ceremony came with a red carpet dress code. Coinciding with the show’s rebrand to the Actor Awards, the powers that be issued a sartorial brief: “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s.” But as guests shuffled onto the red carpet, a question emerged: Was the theme really necessary? The Actors Awards’ dress code wasn’t completely without precedent. For the 40th Academy Awards in 1968, in an effort to prevent starlets from showing up in modish miniskirts, legendary costume designer Edith Head issued an edict: “Actresses are requested…
Australia’s government may take a strict stance on ensuring younger users cannot access AI chatbots. Reuters reports that Australian regulators may require app storefronts to block AI services that do not implement age verification for restricting mature content by March 9.”eSafety will use the full range of our powers where there is non-compliance,” a representative for the commissioner said in a statement to the publication. Those paths could include “action in respect of gatekeeper services such as search engines and app stores that provide key points of access to particular services.”A review by Reuters found that of 50 leading text-based…
