Adam Silver does not condone tanking. You might have heard. Silver addressed the issue at All-Star Weekend during a press conference so uncomfortable for the commissioner that I half expected him to throw a smoke bomb into the assembly and disappear through a trap door. Silver continued his anti-tanking crusade last week and informed the league’s general managers that more guardrails would be installed next season. There were a lot of potential proposals, all of them flawed. In the league’s haste to discourage tanking, it seems the NBA has decided it can absolutely take this leap into once more changing the…

The U.S. government announced on Tuesday sanctions against two companies that acquire and resell zero-day exploits, as well sanctioning their founders and their associates. Officials with the U.S. Treasury told TechCrunch that the government was imposing sanctions against the brokers of zero-days — security vulnerabilities in software that are unknown to its developer but can be abused to hack people — as they pose a threat to U.S. national security, foreign policy, and economy.  The first sanctioned company is Operation Zero, a Russian firm that launched in 2021. I’m not going to argue that the manner in which a dish is plated and served actually affects the way it tastes (though I know some will). That said, I’m of the belief that presentation does affect the experience of eating a meal. A simple roast chicken becomes that much more impressive when it’s carved neatly and arranged on a pretty scallop-edged platter, just as a plate of spaghetti pomodoro somehow becomes restaurant-worthy when the plate in question is a piece of hand-painted stoneware.Whether you’re looking to elevate your Sunday family suppers or deck out your next dinner party tablescape…

Whether the ceremony takes place in a historical sculpture garden or your best friend’s backyard, an al fresco setting calls for a wedding guest dress that is as effortless as the atmosphere.Vogue’s Favorite Garden Wedding Guest DressesFew occasions are more fitting for florals than a garden wedding. There is a corner of Antarctica that looks like something out of a David Cronenberg movie. It’s located in the dry valleys of McMurdo, an immense frozen desert where, periodically, a jet of crimson liquid suddenly gushes from the dazzling white of the Taylor Glacier. They’re called the Blood Falls, and since their discovery in 1911 by geologist Thomas Griffith Taylor, they’ve fueled a century of scientific speculation.Recently, a series of observations conducted since 2018 have clarified several mysteries, such as the nature of their reddish color and what keeps them liquid at almost –20 degrees Celsius. New research published…

Editor’s note: This story was originally published in 2017. The 2026 Elimination Chamber premium live event will take place on Feb. 28.On Nov. 17, 2002, six of the biggest names in WWE history stepped into Madison Square Garden for a match at Survivor Series that had never been done before. Equal parts steel cage, War Games and some kind of Mad Max-esque hellscape, the Elimination Chamber would eventually become a staple of the company as its own pay-per-view.But on that particular Sunday night, six current and future legends of the business were walking into a complete unknown that would batter,…
