No. 5 Iowa State staged a 20-2 run just before halftime Saturday vs. No. 9 Kansas and never looked back in a 74-56 blowout inside Hilton Coliseum, handing the Jayhawks their first loss in more than a month to shake up the Big 12 title race. The Cyclones’ defense held KU to its second-lowest field goal percentage in a game all season while also forcing 13 turnovers, and their offense was equally as potent in a balanced beatdown. The win is Iowa State’s largest by final margin vs. Kansas ever in a game played in Ames, Iowa, and tied for its…
Airbnb plans to double down on artificial intelligence to improve its user experience for both guests and hosts. During a fourth-quarter earnings call, Airbnb’s CEO, Brian Chesky, said the company is building an “AI-native experience” aimed at helping guests book trips, assisting hosts with their listings, and running the company more efficiently. According to Chesky, there’s an AI search tool to help guests book trips that’s live for a small percentage of users right now.In a shareholder letter posted on Airbnb’s website, the company said it’s conducting early testing with an AI-powered search that is “focused on giving guests a…
Isabel Marant, the designer, is still very much in the house. But her decision to take a step back from some aspects of the job—seasonal previews among them—has given creative director Kim Bekker a chance to plumb questions about desirability and relevance, while incorporating intel gleaned directly from the shop floor as the brand eases into its fourth decade.“In fashion we can do so much, we can show our creativity, but in the end, you have to want to wear it,” she said during a showroom visit. “For us, this season is about being honest with ourselves about who we…
In an eyewitness video analyzed frame by frame by The New York Times, Alex Pretti raises one hand and holds a phone in the other. Federal agents tackle him, and one appears to find and remove a gun holstered on his hip. Then, an agent shoots — and a second follows. They appear to fire nine more shots as Pretti lies on the ground. The Trump administration has claimed Pretti was shot because of his legally carried gun — that the agents, later identified in records viewed by ProPublica as Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection (CBP)…
Feb 14, 2026, 11:52 AM ETMILAN — For a while now, Jordan Stolz’s talent and dominance as a speedskater, and his much-anticipated potential for Olympic success, prompted many to repeatedly mention his name — prematurely, no doubt — alongside that of Eric Heiden. Now they really do belong in the same sentence, at least in one regard.Stolz established himself as a two-time Olympic gold medalist, midway to his goal of four at the Milan Cortina Games, by winning the 500 meters on Saturday to follow up his victory in the 1,000. Those twin triumphs allowed Stolz, a 21-year-old from Wisconsin,…
Hopping over a pile of dirty snow, I arrived on a frigid February evening at a wine bar in midtown, a purple neon sign reading “EVA AI cafe.” Inside, several people were seated at tables and booths, staring at phones. Servers milled about, placing mini potato croquettes and nonalcoholic spritzers on each table. Like many New York City bars, the majority of the patrons were on a date.Unlike every other bar, half of the dates weren’t human. As I enter, I’m shown to a table tucked away in the corner with a phone stand, a phone preloaded with the EVA AI…
Momo Productions | Digitalvision | Getty ImagesFor homeowners who sell their house later in life, that timing may come with a cost, new research suggests.Once sellers reach about age 70, they start getting lower sale prices for their houses compared with younger homeowners, according to a January research brief published by the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College.Compared to sellers in their 40s and 50s, an 80-year-old homeowner gets a 5% lower price for a house held for about 11 years, according to the study. On a typical home price of $405,400 — the national median sale price in…
We independently select these products—if you buy from one of our links, we may earn a commission. All prices were accurate at the time of publishing. Our fascination with chefs’ kitchens is well-trodden ground — from the TODAY show to Architectural Digest, people love peeking into the kitchens of famous people, and chefs are no exception. It’s like a glimpse into the creative minds that captivate us in their restaurants, their cooking videos, and the pages of their cookbooks. While it’s fun to see how fancy (and clean) these kitchens are, for most of us the La Cornue stoves, Carrara marble countertops,…
Much of Silicon Valley has spent years chasing mega-rounds and buzzy AI deals. Meanwhile, Stacy Brown-Philpot is running Cherryrock Capital like a throwback to venture capital’s earlier days, writing smaller Series A and B checks to founders that larger firms routinely overlook. The former TaskRabbit CEO and decade-long Google veteran launched Cherryrock a year ago after seeing what she calls a persistent gap: access to capital for “underinvested entrepreneurs” building software companies at the crucial growth stage. “When I left TaskRabbit, I took some time off to figure out what was next and saw this gap in the market, which…
