Rivian is, by every measure, a maker and seller of EVs. But in 2025, it was the company’s software and services that helped its annual revenue grow by 8%. Rivian reported Thursday $5.38 billion in total revenue in 2025, up from $4.97 billion from the prior year. That rosy picture dulls a bit when looking just at its automotive revenue, which fell 15% to $3.8 billion in 2025. The fall was fueled by a $134 million drop in regulatory credit sales and lower vehicle deliveries, which were partially offset by higher average selling prices, according to Rivian. Meanwhile, software and…
US President Donald Trump holds a bilateral meeting with European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on September 23, 2025. Brendan Smialowski | Afp | Getty ImagesEurope is “totally on the sidelines” on the global stage as “wrecking ball” politics has become the norm, the head of the continent’s biggest security forum has said. Speaking to CNBC’s Annette Weisbach ahead of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), Wolfgang Ischinger, the organization’s chairman, said it was Europe’s “own fault” that its power on the global stage has been diminished.…
The Everett, Washington-based fusion energy startup Helion announced Friday that it has hit a key milestone in its quest for fusion power. Plasmas inside the company’s Polaris prototype reactor have reached 150 million degrees Celsius, three-quarters of the way toward what the company thinks it will need to operate a commercial fusion power plant. “We’re obviously really excited to be able to get to this place,” David Kirtley, Helion’s co-founder and CEO, told TechCrunch. Polaris is also operating using deuterium-tritium fuel — a mixture of two hydrogen isotopes — which Kirtley said makes Helion the first fusion company to do…

The Mavs (19-34) have lost eight in a row in addition to losing No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg (foot) to injury through the All-Star break. The Lakers (32-21) have dropped back-to-back outings, which followed a three-game winning streak. Luka Doncic (hamstring) is out and won’t get to face his former team, while LeBron James is not on the injury report after missing Tuesday’s game, and Deandre Ayton (knee) is out.Tipoff is at 10 p.m. ET from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Air fryers have gone from novelty appliances to everyday kitchen staples surprisingly fast. They’re quick to heat up, easy to use and well suited to everything from frozen snacks to roasted vegetables and simple desserts. For many people, they’ve replaced the oven for smaller meals, cutting down on cook time without adding extra cleanup. The category has also expanded well beyond basic basket-style models. Some air fryers are designed for small kitchens or single servings, while others offer larger capacities and preset cooking modes for roasting, reheating or dehydrating. After testing a wide range of machines, the Instant Vortex Plus continues…
A lot of people I know are currently rewatching very old episodes of America’s Next Top Model. The reason? Well, a new three-part Netflix documentary is on its way—Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model—which promises to take us behind the scenes of what is possibly the most unhinged TV show of the aughts. But also, it just is and has always been as insanely addictive as it is toxic, from the bonkers makeovers and the bizarre feuds to the increasingly outlandish challenges. There truly is nothing else like it, and, for the sake of young women everywhere, I hope…
OpenAI cofounder and president Greg Brockman gave millions of dollars to support President Donald Trump in 2025, despite the fact that Trump can’t run for president again. Why? Apparently, Brockman really wants to encourage government support for AI as the technology suffers from bad press. Just don’t ask Brockman about ICE brutalizing U.S. cities. Wired published a new interview with Brockman on Thursday that notes the OpenAI president sees himself as an apolitical tech founder who just wants to help humanity with the proliferation of AI. “We are embarking on a journey to develop this technology that’s going to be…

Tenways just launched its new CGO Compact electric bike in Europe that’s designed to fit into tight spaces like car trunks, apartment hallways, and train compartments. To achieve this, the CGO Compact is fitted with small 20-inch wheels, folding pedals, and a handlebar fitted with a twistable stem to create a slim, wall-hugging profile. And its MIK HD rear carrier system is good for hauling up to 27kg (almost 60 pounds) around…
As geopolitical tensions between the EU and the U.S. escalate, these charts show how reliant the continent is on American tech providers, despite pledges to become more independent.Since returning to the White House last year, U.S President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on the continent and caused headaches and fear in Europe as he initially refused to rule out military action to acquire Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory, before backtracking. With the long-standing transatlantic alliance looking uncertain, European governments are increasingly moving to develop digital autonomy. Critics of Europe’s reliance on U.S. companies for digital infrastructure warn that U.S. law enforcement can…
