For most of the past two decades, the majority of electric vehicle-related investments have gone to Republican-led districts, especially in the Southeast. With the industry pulling back from electric cars and trucks, the fate of those investments is now an open question. Automakers and battery makers invested more $200 billion in EV and battery manufacturing facilities in the U.S. from roughly 2000 to 2024, according to data and policy research firm Atlas Public Policy. About 84% of battery investments went to Republican-led districts, as well as 62% of EV manufacturing investments, the firm said. These were expected to create more…

All this has afforded him more than a few well-deserved luxuries, including a new Miami pad that boasts 360-degree views of the city, furniture by Versace, and an outlandish jewelry collection full of his own designs with either Jacob & Co. or Lorraine Schwartz. Pharrell says he’s constantly sketching ideas, and was commissioned by Marc Jacobs to design a line for Louis Vuitton. “It’s going to be revolutionary,” he says, adding that he’s even invented his own diamond cut that has since been patented but will not be unveiled until the summer. In the meantime, Pharrell moves from behind the soundboard…
Modern cars are already equipped with various cameras and sensors monitoring other vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians to minimize or prevent collisions with them, and there’s more of that technology coming rapidly, especially with autonomous taxis. But what if that existing technology could report bad potholes or even deficient lane markings and signage? Honda found out. With an extensive manufacturing and development hub in Ohio, Honda partnered with the DriveOhio division of the Ohio Department of Transportation for a two-year study that evaluated whether vehicle-generated data would be effective to report roads in need of repair or deficient signage and directions…

With the spring approaching, it’s time to start thinking about how you’ll file your taxes. Unfortunately, with the recent demise of Direct File, there isn’t a free, government-provided alternative to TurboTax in 2026, and you’ll need to look to other federal programs, including IRS Free File, to file your paperwork. If you don’t qualify for Free File, chances are you’ll need to dish out cash for Intuit’s software. And while we hate to suggest you give money to a company that has spent decades lobbying to ensure America’s tax system remains a nightmare, we can at least save you some…
You have the best chance to save on streaming services during the holiday shopping season, but throughout the year, the occasional deal pops up that’s worth considering. Case in point: this new Disney+ deal. New and eligible returning subscribers can sign up for the Disney+ Hulu bundle (with ads) for $10 for one month of access. That’s $3 off the usual price of the bundle for one month, and more than 58 percent off if you consider the cost of each service individually (Disney+ at $12 per month and, separately, Hulu also at $12 per month). We’d be remiss if we…
