Compare the Top 6 Beard TrimmersFrequently Asked QuestionsHow We Test and Evaluate Beard TrimmersAccordionItemContainerButtonA beard grows about a millimeter every two or three days—an eighth of an inch a week, on average. So testing beard trimmers can take a long time.In general, we test each beard trimmer once a beard has grown out enough for a good trim—using at least two cutting lengths. Weight and balance matters, and so does the blade’s ability to get to the awkward areas around the neck. We check the trimmer’s ability to function as a shaver, whether for balding or on the neck. Our testers…

It’s time for another exclusive AMA for Verge subscribers, and this time, I’ll be your host. I cover everything from wearables to dystopian cursed tech like at-home urine labs and belligerent AI companions. At times, my job calls for flirting with Grok’s AI girlfriend for 24 hours or coercing weird AI video apps to generate odd French-kissing videos. Other times, I’m making personas of myself in the Vision Pro. I also do normal things, like testing the latest smart glasses, smart rings, and smartwatches. Once in a while, I get away with shitposting about the black Apple Watch Ultra 2.…
Last Saturday, I received an email from the Children’s Theatre Company of Minnesota. They explained that they were canceling the weekend’s performances of Go, Dog. Go! “for the safety of our patrons, staff, and artists.” Earlier that morning, federal agents had killed Alex Pretti in the streets, about nine blocks away from the theater’s doors. The tickets were a Christmas gift to my four-year-old daughter from her grandparents. She has never been to the theater before. In the ever-expanding list of consequences from ICE’s violent occupation of the Twin Cities metro area, this disappointment hardly merits a mention. But it still…

Pat, [Dorgu], unfortunately, he’s going to be out for…
I still have some complaints, starting with the TV’s relentless pursuit of Samsung’s ad-based TV service, Samsung TV Plus. The service launches by default during startup, forcing me to sweep through the Advanced Settings and turn it off under Startup Options. Even then, it kept turning on The Fairly Odd Parents on startup, eventually seeming to stop on its own.Tizen also apparently auto-scans for OTA antenna channels, leaving me confused about how to rescan, while the S90F’s lack of ATSC 3.0 support means you won’t get Nextgen channels with features like HDR. One final oddity is that the TV’s HDMI…
President Donald Trump on Friday named Kevin Warsh to succeed Jerome Powell as Federal Reserve chair, ending a prolonged odyssey that has seen unprecedented turmoil around the central bank. The decision culminates a process that officially began last summer but started much earlier than that, with Trump launching a fusillade of criticism against the Powell-led Fed almost since Powell took the job in 2018. “I have known Kevin for a long period of time, and have no doubt that he will go down as one of the GREAT Fed Chairmen, maybe the best,” said Trump in a Truth Social post announcing…

Fintech firm Marquis told customers that it plans to seek compensation from its firewall provider after blaming the company for a breach that allowed hackers to steal its customers’ personal and financial data. In a memo shared with customers this week and seen by TechCrunch, Marquis said it believes that its August 2025 ransomware attack happened because the company’s firewall service provider SonicWall had its own data breach that exposed critical security information about its customers’ firewalls. That earlier breach of SonicWall allowed hackers to obtain credentials needed to launch a ransomware attack against Marquis, the memo said. Marquis said…
The coaching carousel this offseason has been the most entertaining merry-go-round of NFL drama in years. The Baltimore Ravens fired John Harbaugh after 18 seasons, Mike Tomlin stepped down after 19 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Buffalo Bills parted ways with Sean McDermott following their divisional-round loss to the Denver Broncos. With new head coaches come new staffs, and sometimes the coordinator hires can be just as important as the top job. Just look at what happened with the Detroit Lions last year. Some of these assistants will be called upon to lead their side of the ball, like…
