U.S. President Donald Trump (R) speaks to Apple CEO Tim Cook (L) as he attends a reception for business leaders at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting on Jan. 21, 2026 in Davos, Switzerland. Chip Somodevilla | Getty ImagesMoving between panels, hotel lobbies, and meetings this week, it often felt like two conferences were happening in the same snowy Swiss village. In one Davos, the mood was strikingly optimistic. Executives and investors spoke about artificial intelligence moving from hype to production, terms like “world models” and “physical AI” were being thrown around, with discussions about the enormous pools of capital ready…

All prices were accurate at the time of publishing. If it’s a weeknight and I don’t have a leftover pasta sauce or stir fry in the fridge from my big weekend cook, then I try to keep dinner simple. I’ll build out my plate by first thinking about my protein source, then veggies, and finally grains. Ideally, this all comes together in a half hour or less, and I can do most of the cleanup before my components are done cooking. Looking to follow…
Zane Li has brought his menswear back to Paris ahead of his women’s show in New York next month. From a sleek showroom in the Marais, the designer explained how the season’s concept emerged from his longtime fascination with cars. Not their engineering or design, but a more contemplative relationship with them: observing life passing while traveling between studios and factories in China, or how a car’s speed makes it at once exhilarating (racing) and dangerous (the twisted scenes from David Cronenberg’s Crash). While nothing about the collection conjured that film’s auto-erotica, Li explained how all the allusions coalesced in…
Best Grind-and-Dry Food RecyclerLomi3 Countertop Food RecyclerMost kitchen “composters” simply grind and dry your food scraps, but the Lomi 3 does the best job of this of the bunch. I’m always impressed when companies listen to feedback and adapt, and Lomi’s new model solves a couple of the now-discontinued Lomi 2’s quirks and foibles. Gone are the multiple modes, annoying twist-off lid, and having to put scraps right into the machine. Now there’s a convenient 3-liter, 7.5-inch-tall countertop bucket, just like the FoodCycler below; an easy push-button lid; and just two simple processing modes: Grow and Express. The Lomi 3…

A failed December effort to bring down parts of Poland’s energy grid was the work of Russian government hackers known for causing past energy disruptions, according to a security research firm that investigated the incident. Last week, Polish Energy Minister Milosz Motyka told reporters that the attempted cyberattack on December 29 and 30 saw hackers targeting two heat and power plants, as well as trying to disrupt the communication links between renewable installations, such as wind turbines and power distribution operators. Motyka called the incident the “strongest attack” on Poland’s energy infrastructure in years, with the Polish government blaming Moscow…
Where’s the Trump Phone? We’re going to keep talking about it every week. We’ve reached out, as usual, to ask about the Trump Phone’s whereabouts. As usual, we’re still waiting for a response. In the meantime, it turns out we might have two Trump Phones to worry about. The Trump Phone may be no more than a whisper in the wind, but Trump Mobile is already planning a second. One of the company’s top executives revealed in an interview that a “T1 Ultra” is also in the works, though we know even less about it than we do about the first…

Welcome to our latest roundup of what’s going on in the indie game space. It’s been a very busy week of fun game releases (next week will be too!), so let’s get into some of them after a quick reflection on gaming while traveling.I love my Steam Deck. I really truly do. It’s a fantastic machine. And yet when I brought it with me on a five-week trip over the holidays, I used it for barely an hour the entire time. That doesn’t really justify the space and weight it takes up in my bag. The same holds true for…
