YouTube is updating its advertiser-friendly content guidelines to allow more videos on controversial issues to earn full ad revenue, as long as they’re dramatized or discussed in a non-graphic manner. These controversial topics include self-harm, abortion, suicide, and domestic and sexual abuse. YouTube notes that content on child abuse or eating disorders will remain ineligible for full monetization. YouTube announced the change this week in a video on its Creator Insider channel. “In the past, the degree of graphic or descriptive detail was not considered a significant factor in determining advertiser friendliness, even for some dramatized material,” YouTube explained. “Consequently,…
Warren Buffett is used to giving advice. For decades, the Berkshire Hathaway chairman has sat before a packed arena during his company’s annual shareholder meetings, fielding investor questions on everything from artificial intelligence to the ins and outs of the insurance business to marriage advice. In “Warren Buffett: A Life and Legacy,” which airs on Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. E.T. on CNBC, Becky Quick asks the Oracle of Omaha about some of the toughest questions and best advice he’s ever given. Buffett eventually arrives at a challenge he used to pose to college students. Buffett would ask the students…
A new report from blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis indicates there has been a massive increase in Bitcoin adoption in Iran over the past month, as the country deals with nationwide unrest and protests. The report specifically looks at the increase in withdrawals from crypto exchanges to unknown Bitcoin addresses, which indicates the local population is avoiding centralized financial infrastructure in the country in favor of the decentralized, peer-to-peer digital cash system. In terms of specifics, the report shows a 262% increase in the amount of withdrawals valued at more than $10,000 into what are thought to be self-custodial bitcoin wallets…
The Buffalo Bills suffered another painful playoff loss on Saturday, and to add to the pain, this loss came with some controversy. During Denver’s 33-30 overtime win, the Broncos’ game-winning drive was set up by an interception that shouldn’t have counted, according to Bills coach Sean McDermott. With just under eight minutes left to play in overtime, the Bills were facing a third-and-11 from their own 36-yard line, so Josh Allen decided to throw a deep pass to Brandin Cooks. On the play, Cooks appeared to catch the ball, but after rolling on the ground, it was Ja’Quan McMillian who came…
Most Apple products are pretty expensive, but some of the most affordable (and useful) ones are AirTags. The Bluetooth trackers are priced pretty reasonably even when not on sale, but they can be a steal if you can get them on a discount — like right now. A four pack of AirTags is on sale for $65 at Amazon, which is only a few dollars more than the record-low price we saw during Black Friday this year.AppleThat’s a near-record low price on the Bluetooth trackers. $65 at AmazonAirTags can be useful for people who travel frequently, helping you to keep…
I may not have read Emily Henry’s bestselling 2021 novel People We Meet on Vacation before this week, but now that I’ve borrowed it from Libby, you can go ahead and call me a full-fledged Henrietta (or whatever Emily Henry stans call themselves). And what made me seek it out, you may ask? Why, Netflix’s new adaptation starring Tom Blyth and Emily Bader, of course, which only upped the ante on the story’s friends-to-lovers arc. Now, I have quite literally watched paint dry on a streaming service—shout-out to Bob Ross on PBS.org!—so I don’t know if my approval is the greatest…
We now have some idea of what’s at stake in the longstanding feud between Elon Musk and OpenAI. As first reported by Bloomberg, the latest filing, as part of a lawsuit that accuses the AI giant of abandoning its non-profit status, claims that Musk is owed anywhere between $79 billion and $134 billion in damages from the “wrongful gains” of OpenAI and Microsoft.Musk claimed in the filing that he’s entitled to a portion of OpenAI’s recent valuation at $500 billion, after contributing $38 million in “seed funding” during the AI company’s startup years. Along with providing “roughly 60 percent of…

It’s worth noting that some of what you’re going to read here won’t be found in other reviews because the 8K 30 fps video capabilities were not added until near the end of 2025, when DJI delivered a firmware update which enabled 8K video. So if you see those initial, rushed reviews going for that Google juice, saying that the Action 5 tops out at 4K—well, they’re wrong now.The new sensor is a 1/1.1-inch chip and it’s square, which means you can shoot once and crop to various formats, including the evil that is vertical video. One caveat there is…
Many people think that if they’re determined enough — if they push themselves really hard — they’ll be able to create better habits. Those people are missing an important piece to the puzzle of self-control, according to James Clear, author of The New York Times bestselling book “Atomic Habits.” Even if you’re disciplined, you likely need to put yourself in environments that allow you to stay that way, free of distractions or opportunities to be tempted out of your habits-in-progress, Clear told “The Mel Robbins Podcast” in a Jan. 8 episode.”When you look at people who exhibit high levels of self-control,…
