A former SandboxAQ executive filed a wrongful termination suit last month filled with such scandalous allegations against the company’s famed CEO, Jack Hidary, that plaintiff himself redacted the most salacious details. On Friday, the company’s lawyers filed a blistering response, calling the former employee a “serial liar” and stating his lawsuit “asserts false claims for improper and extortionate purposes.” Even the visible portions of the lawsuit — which TechCrunch has obtained — contain eyebrow-raising allegations, should a court find them valid. (A copy of the lawsuit is available here.) The case offers a rare inside look at how employee lawsuits can…
The Dolphins announced an agreement with Jon-Eric Sullivan to be their new General Manager on Friday.Sullivan was the vice president of player personnel for the Packers and has spent the last 22 years in the Green Bay organization. He served in the vice president role for his final four years with the team.Advertisement”I could not be more excited to welcome Jon-Eric Sullivan as our next general manager. Jon-Eric brings a clear vision for how to build and run a football team, founded upon his own experience at a winning organization,” Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said in a statement. “As we…
Over 4,000 exhibitors flocked to Las Vegas, Nevada this week to showcase their wares at CES 2026. The Engadget team, as usual, was out in full force covering the show. The week began with press conferences from huge companies at the show, mostly filled with AI buzzwords, vague promises and quite little in the way of hard news.More than one company even decided to forgo announcing things during their conferences to make way for more AI chatter, only to publish press releases later quietly admitting that, yes, actually, they did make some consumer technology. It’s appropriate, I guess, that as…

And with spring’s mood all about individuality, why not let it be your first taste at re-inviting play into your wardrobe? The statement-making coat is a no-brainer in any winter rotation—offering both warmth and style, whether dressed down with a baggy blue jean and preppy penny loafer, or up…
The smart home has been drifting into a world of interoperability lately that I never would have expected just a few years ago. And at CES 2026, that was on display—from smart locks that will support the new universal Aliro digital key standard to cameras that work with Matter, and therefore (eventually) with every major smart home platform in existence, there’s plenty to look forward to if you’re a fan of not being locked into any one ecosystem. I also saw companies exploring new technologies (especially in smart locks, where on-device authentication in the form of palm vein scanning and…
Nothing in the transfer portal is final until the ink is dry — and sometimes not even then. DJ Lagway’s verbal commitment to Baylor looked like a clean win for the Bears on Thursday, but the situation is still worth watching.Lagway, the former Florida quarterback, has continued dialogue with other programs, including Ole Miss, even after verbally committing to Baylor, sources told CBS Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz on Friday afternoon. Lagway informed multiple people of his commitment to the Bears and even began recruiting other players on Baylor’s behalf. Still, the continued communication elsewhere adds an unexpected wrinkle to what…
Amazon could be taking another, even bigger swing at physical stores, this time with a Walmart-like supercenter. On Tuesday, the Orland Park Plan Commission in the Chicago suburb Orland Park, Illinois voted 6-1 to approve Amazon’s proposal to develop 35 acres of land for a 229,000-square foot retail center, as reported by The Information. The development would include a brick-and-mortar supercenter selling groceries, general merchandise, and prepared foods. It would also double as an Amazon fulfillment center, like a department store with an Amazon warehouse in back. Customers would be able to pick up Amazon orders there, as well. The proposed development…
President Donald Trump met Friday afternoon with more than a dozen oil companies at the White House to discuss plans for investment in Venezuela, less than a week after the U.S. ousted President Nicolás Maduro.Exxon CEO Darren Woods, ConocoPhillips CEO Ryan Lance and Chevron Vice Chairman Mark Nelson attended. Executives from Halliburton, Valero and Marathon were also present among others. Trump said oil companies will spend at least $100 billion to rebuild Venezuela’s energy sector. The U.S. will provide security and protection so “they get their money back and make a very nice return,” he said. The U.S. will decide…
In October, Apple caved to pressure from the Trump administration and removed ICEBlock — and similar apps which crowdsourced the location of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement activity — from its App Store. Apple’s stated rationale? The apps could “be used to harm law enforcement officers.” But armed-to-the-teeth ICE officers don’t need protection from civilians. Apple had that exactly backward. That became impossible to ignore on Wednesday, when ICE agent Jonathon Ross killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in cold blood. By now, you don’t need me to recount her brutal last moments. But the footage (graphic and disturbing as it is) is…
