Robotics company Boston Dynamics announced Monday a strategic partnership with Google’s AI research lab to speed up the development of its next-generation humanoid robot Atlas — and make it act more human around people. The partnership, which was announced during the Hyundai press conference at CES 2026, is centered on robotics research that will use Google DeepMind’s AI foundation models. Boston Dynamics’ humanoid robot Atlas will be the first test case, according to Carolina Parada, senior director of robotics at Google DeepMind. “We’re looking to integrate our cutting-edge AI foundation models with Boston Dynamics’ new Atlas robots, and we’ll aim…

U.S. crude oil rose $1, or 1.74%, to close at $58.32 per barrel. Global benchmark Brent gained $1.01, or 1.66%, to settle at $61.76 per barrel. President Donald Trump made it clear Saturday that U.S. investment in Venezuela’s oil sector is a key objective of the regime change operation that ousted Maduro.”We’re going to have our very…
It’s one of the biggest emotional moments of the Stranger Things 5 finale. Mike Wheeler weaves a tale about what may have happened to Eleven, who most of his friends believe to be dead. As he tells the story, we see footage of Eleven walking up a beautiful cliffside. A cliffside that, the show has set us up to believe, will culminate with the reveal of three waterfalls. As the story reaches its peak, so does Eleven, and the camera swoops by to reveal… two waterfalls. In the days since the finale of Stranger Things aired, I’ve been arguing with…

CES 2026 is off and running, and chipmakers enabling the AI moment are one of the big starts of the show. In addition to NVIDIA and AMD taking the stage today, we’ll also be getting Intel’s 2026 launch event. The chip giant is expected to provide more details on its AI PC initiative and the new processors powering it: The Core Ultra Series 3 CPUs (aka Panther Lake) are made using an 18A process — that’s 18 angstroms, or just under 2nm — and designed for high-end laptops and gaming devices. For Intel, the stakes at CES are higher than ever.…
I’ve been on a mission to declutter my utensil crock, ditching old, rarely used tools and replacing any potentially harmful black plastic pieces with items made from safer, natural materials. One of the best swaps I’ve made by far is Caraway’s birchwood mini utensil set, which includes a spoon, scraper, spatula, and tongs in space-saving sizes. Besides being better for me and the environment, the petite nontoxic utensils are also better for my tiny kitchen because they free up space in my crock. They’re so conveniently sized, in fact, that I find myself reaching for them every time I meal…
This past holiday season, Hailey Bieber eschewed tinsel and sequins for another source of sparkle: a showstopping statement anklet. In mid-December, Bieber was spotted en route to a holiday party, where her brand new bling caught the light of the paparazzi’s flashes.Yesterday, Bieber gave a closer look at the anklet on Instagram, where she posed her blinged-out nameplate alongside her son Jack’s foot. It is, after all, in his honor. Bieber commissioned New York-based jeweler Alex Moss for the 14-karat diamond-encrusted cursive scrawl. “Hailey was looking for a small charm anklet that was personalized to her. ‘Jack’ is what she…
CES has long felt like a full-on auto show, but the car-centric energy seems somewhat muted at CES 2026. Sure, the Afeela electric vehicle from the Sony-Honda joint venture is returning to the show floor, but with the Trump administration yanking most EV incentives from the market, the industry isn’t offering a full-court press of new vehicles in Las Vegas this year. That includes Hyundai. While the company’s Mobis subsidiary will present “more than 30 mobility convergence technologies” during CES week — including its Holographic Windshield Display — we’re hearing the Korean auto giant will instead use its press conference to…
Too often we overestimate the significance of one big defining moment and underestimate the value of making a little progress every day. You’re probably familiar with what’s known as the Serenity Prayer. It goes like this: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. There’s an important lesson here — one that’s very often glossed over… When a chaotic reality is swirling around us, we often try to relieve our anxiety by exerting our will over external things we cannot control.…
The Miami Hurricanes were slotted at No. 18 when the College Football Playoff Selection Committee revealed its first set of rankings on Nov. 4, setting up a daunting path for the two-loss team from the ACC to make the CFP. But Miami stayed focused on each opponent, and after stacking wins and slowly climbing up the rankings, Mario Cristobal’s team received the final at-large bid to the 2025-26 CFP field, checking in at the No. 10 spot in the committee’s final rankings. Merely making the bracket meant Miami made school history with its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance, but after two…
