Jane Eyre fans, rejoice! As the dust slowly settles following the release of Emerald Fennell’s seismic, deliciously divisive Wuthering Heights, Hollywood, it seems, is eager to make the most of our collective renewed interest in those brilliant Brontë sisters—and Aimee Lou Wood, of Sex Education and The White Lotus fame, who will soon also play Pattie Boyd (the model who will go on to marry Joseph Quinn’s George Harrison) in the upcoming four-part Beatles biopics, is getting in on the fun. Per Deadline, the Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe nominee will be starring in a new TV adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s…
Stripe is considering a deal to buy some or all of PayPal Holdings, sources told Bloomberg, though talks are still in their very early stages and the deal may not happen. The news comes the same day Stripe released its annual letter, giving updates on the business. The big news was that Stripe is making a tender offer that values the company at $159 billion, a 74% increase from last year. The investors buying employee shares this time around include Andreessen Horowitz and Thrive Capital. Stripe will also buy back some stock, the letter said. The latest valuation again makes Stripe…
After watching Inter crash out of the Champions League on Tuesday at the hands of Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt, Juventus could be the final Italian side remaining in Champions League play by the time they host Galatasaray on Wednesday. There’s just one slight issue: Juventus trail by three goals in the clash and will be without suspended players Andrea Cambiaso and Juan Cabal. Center back Gleison Bremer also may not make the match after leaving the first leg with an injury, as Luciano Spalletti’s side has a tough task at hand while needing to ensure that Victor Osimhen doesn’t make their…
It’s the classic awkward icebreaker: If you could invite anyone, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would it be? Aristotle? Ailias is a company based in Surrey, UK, which promises to make that hypothetical a reality. It can reanimate historical and current legends with 3D hologram avatars that are fully conversational, knowledgeable, and can be delivered to you in a box.The technology isn’t bespoke. Many companies provide life-size hologram displays for events and parties, everything from floating 3D displays of Santa’s sleigh or 3D Holo-Trucks. The physicist Dennis Gabor even won a Nobel Prize in 1971 for his…

Nuclear power was once an environmental boogeyman, but not anymore. Somehow, despite shedding its reputation for creating Blinky the three-eyed fish on the Simpsons, and despite convincing AOC to like it, nuclear power is still managing to be right-coded in the year 2026. Nuclear’s sketchiness is just mutating into a new form—smearing it with the same cultural muck as crypto and AI. In September of last year, when Trump negotiated tariffs with Japan, Japan’s end of the bargain required its government to invest $550 billion in the U.S. That deal is creating a giant pool of Japanese money for American…

Apple is launching new tools to comply with the growing number of age-verification laws both in the U.S. and abroad. As part of the changes, Apple will block the downloads of apps rated 18+ in Brazil, Australia, and Singapore, while also rolling out other features to comply with laws in Utah and Louisiana in the U.S. The company informed developers on Tuesday that it’s expanding its set of “age assurance” tools, including an updated Declared Age Range API now available for beta testing. These tools allow developers to obtain a user’s age range without gaining access to the user’s personal…
The restaurant, located on the hotel’s lowest level, with low ceilings, stone walls, and views onto the surrounding forest, is overseen by the Italian chef Davide Degiovanni, who built out his CV in London at the Four Seasons in Mayfair and as head chef at Gordon Ramsay’s Union Street Café. The menu marries the robust Swiss Alpine pantry with the techniques and flavours he absorbed growing up in Piedmont in northern Italy. His signatures include pillowy gnocchi made with local potatoes that swim in a silken pool of cream and black truffle, as well as crispy croquettes with trout sourced…
Now that Apple has started blocking users under 18 in certain regions from downloading apps, the company has introduced new age verification tools. Those will help developers “meet their age assurance obligations under upcoming US and regional laws, including in Brazil, Australia, Singapore, Utah and Louisiana,” the company said in a news release on its Developer site.As of February 24, 2026, users in Australia, Brazil and Singapore won’t be able to download apps rated 18+ unless their age is confirmed through “reasonable methods.” Apple noted that any apps distributed in Brazil that are declared to contain loot boxes will be…
