For those who have always dreamed of getting a drink with Robert Pattinson—and who among us hasn’t?—Vogue has the next best thing. Shortly before the release of The Drama, his new film with Zendaya, we had the actor play mixologist for the latest installment of A Toast to Cinema. In it, Pattinson concocts three cocktails thematically linked to his own work and three more inspired by his all-time favorite films.
The killer twists and turns of The Drama provide the perfect subtext for a Dark ’n’ Stormy, complete with lime juice, ginger syrup, rum, and soda water. (“That will be $35,” Pattinson jokes.) Next, he moves on to an old fashioned—“the granddaddy of drinks”—in honor of his titular role in The Batman. Once that’s down the hatch, it’s time for a Twilight-inspired michelada, finished with a Tajín rim. (It’s Pattinson’s first time making the drink, but naturally, he pulls it off like a pro, inspired by memories of sipping one on a road trip through Texas.)
The first cocktail that Pattinson mixes based on a favorite movie is a rhubarb Collins, inspired by Shane Meadows’s 1999 comedy-drama A Room for Romeo Brass. “I saw this movie when I was a teenager, and I thought it was so funny and so powerful… the performances are just incredible, and the writing’s amazing,” Pattinson recalls.
But we can’t spoil the whole thing. For more on the star’s most treasured moviegoing experiences—and the drinks to go with them—watch the full video above.
