One thing about me: I’m all about the condiments. My fridge is stocked with all sorts of sauces, dips, marmalades, jams, and more. Along with ketchup and mustard, mayo is a constant in my fridge. And while I was content with my grocery-store-brand version, Graza has changed that with the debut of its three new mayos. I tried the mayos, and now I can tell you all about them — including which one I never want to be without again.
What’s the Deal with Graza’s New Mayos?
Graza — the olive oil brand known for its squeeze-bottle packaging — launched three olive oil-based mayos at the beginning of the year. You can choose from the following:
Each one is offered in a squeeze bottle or a glass jar and needs to be stored in the fridge once it’s opened. If you’re wondering, yes — each one tastes noticeably different and utilizes different olive oils (something we’ll dive into more below).
Why You Should Trust Me
My Honest Review of Graza’s New Mayos
In my time as a shopping writer, I have sampled some gourmet mayos — and these are my favorites so far. I love that they each have a distinct flavor that makes me want to keep all of them in my fridge for different reasons. And the use of olive oil is really delicious. I’ve found some mayos can have a strange aftertaste because of the oil being used, but these don’t have that problem.
While I like all three of Graza’s new mayos, there is one that stands above the rest. Here is my definitive ranking of the three.
This is the mayo I can use for anything: on sandwiches, with fries, or in a sauce like comeback sauce. The brand even suggests adding it to cake batter! It contains a combination of extra-virgin olive oil and refined olive pomace oil, which somehow imparts a fairly neutral flavor. If you don’t really want to taste the olive oil in your mayo, this is the one for you.
Graza’s “Fancy” Mayo — which contains just extra-virgin olive oil (not the refined olive pomace oil like the “Original”) — is easily one of the most delicious mayos I’ve ever had. It’s super flavorful, with strong grassy, peppery notes from the olive oil. It’s absolutely delicious with roasted potatoes, and I can’t wait to mix Fishwife’s tinned smoked salmon with it and some chopped pepperoncini for a flavor-packed lunch.
I seriously can’t stop using Graza’s new “Garlic” Aioli. It contains olive oil and extra-virgin olive oil, and it’s a game-changer for turkey sandwiches and grilled cheeses. It’s also so good with potatoes and, stay with me here, pot roast. I dipped the rich meat into the garlicky, savory condiment for a truly amazing bite. And if that wasn’t enough, leftover pot roast on a sandwich slathered with this aioli is even more life-affirming. I’m not being dramatic when I say I don’t ever want to be without this condiment.
