Looking at this season’s Rag & Bone lookbook, you’ll find that Jennie McCormick and her team certainly have a finger on the pulse of what New York women actually want and desire in their wardrobes. This includes an array of statement jackets, updates on classic jeans, and sharp takes on office staples. “As we’ve talked about the past few seasons, we’ve been really trying to expand our woman’s lifestyle, and with this season, you can see more of the elevated expression of her life,” said McCormick.
Outerwear has always been an essential category for the brand, and this season McCormick pushed that toward jackets that toe the line between statement and everyday. A leather bomber comes in a delightful cherry red with a scarf detail at the neck, for a touch of Parisian elegance. And if you are in the market for a new head-turning topper to wear to the office (or the December holiday party circuit), there’s a zebra stripe calf hair jacket with a belt attachment that will certainly do the trick.
Beyond outerwear, this season sees new takes on classic pant styles from the brand. Track pants have been a top-selling category, and come December, the Rag & Bone woman can pick up a pair in leather or wool-jersey. The wool-jersey pair comes with a matching tuxedo jacket, an easy put-on-and-go outfit ready for the office and after-work drinks. Jeans—the brand’s longtime bread and butter—gets a subtle refresh this season with two new styles joining their already ample inventory, including a carpenter-style rigid denim and a very subtle take on the barrel-legged trend.
Oh, and don’t sleep on the accessories this season. Shoes include joyful sequined mules, an array of square-toed kitten heels (in a variety of leathers and prints), and expanded colorways for the brand’s popular ballet flat sneakers. One thing McCormick was quick to point out: All their shoes feature Ortholite cushioning, so wearers can look stylish without sacrificing comfort. Cheers to that.
